A popular honeymoon destination, Da Lat is called the 'City of Eternal Spring' and its surroundings in Lam Dong Province are famous for coffee, cassia, and cocoa production due to the unique temperate climate. Made with Vietnamese Lam Dong cocoa nibs that impart a spicy flavor, this rub has a touch of coffee and star anise that makes it beautiful for rubbing on pork or beef, adding to noodle dishes (like pho) or even sprinkling over cut melon or ice cream. Features directly-sourced Vietnamese star anise, cassia and cacao nibs. Curio spice Company is proud to source the coffee beans for this blend from Nguyen Coffee Supply, the first specialty Vietnamese coffee company in the US!

Each of Curio Spice Company's Signature Blends is an original creation by their founder, Claire Cheney, inspired by the people, places, and seasons encountered in her travels. From professional chefs to novice home cooks these aromatic and unique blends are sure to inspire delicious creativity.

Contains: Cocoa nibs, coffee, black pepper, star anise, ginger, coriander, turmeric, cassia.

  • Tasting Notes: Sweet, piquant, peppery, slightly bitter, warming
  • Pairs Well With: Grilled meats, sweets, soups

Curio Spice Company specializes in directly sourced spices, sourced locally from the Eastern US as well as from smallholder spice farms around the world. They give back through fundraising efforts via their Curio for a Cause campaigns, which support gender equality, climate resilience and community empowerment. Curio Spice Company instills in every product a respect for the land and the farmers who grow their spices, alongside a sense of wonder for the rare flavors available.

In 2019, Curio Spice Company earned their B Corp™ certification because they want to change the way spices are produced and traded while making unique spice blends that celebrate a sense of place, but they also wanted to do business in a better way that serves our people and our planet. By being a B Corp, they go beyond by committing to the highest standard of social and environmental impact.
